El Cajon Chiropractor - Welcome all to our brand new blog!

Fletcher Hills Chiropractic is proud to announce the release of their new blog "your spinal column".  There's some new exciting things going on at FHCC.  We unveiled our first ever patient of the month - come in and see who it is.  We have a brand new newsletter debuting this month, and we have a new website www.fletcherhillschiropractic.com.  We're also very excited to celebrate over 25 years of service to San Diego this month.  Here's a little taste of our newsletter -

Ask the Doctor: Dear Doctor – Is Chiropractic safe and effective during pregnancy?
·         First and foremost, absolutely it is safe and effective.  If your pelvis is not properly aligned before pregnancy occurs, there will be less room for the baby once it begins to grow.  Also, remember that the nerves that go to all the hormone producing glands & organs begin in the spine and subluxation can cause those nerves to not function properly.  Low back pain is a common complaint during pregnancy and pain killers and over the counter remedies are not recommended.  Here’s the good news:  ALL Chiropractors are trained in maternal adjusting.  Even better, our office has tables that can accommodate the pregnant belly.  Our tables are also designed for use with the Thompson low-force technique.
Thought of the month – I ask you, what is between your brain and spinal cord?  Nothing of course, your brain and spinal cord are one continuous unit.  Now, what is between your spinal cord and your nerves?  Again, nothing, the nerves begin at the spinal cord.  How about between your nerves and your skin, muscles, organs, and every single cell of your body?  You guessed it, nothing, zip, nada.  Ok, so what do you think happens if a nerve going to your skin, muscle, organ, or cells is pinched or irritated by the bones of the spine being stuck out of place, for a week, a month, a year, or many years?
Subluxation of the month – C1:  The first bone in your neck, it is the sentinel which guards your brain stem.  Nerves from this area go to the vessels which supply blood to the head, the pituitary gland, the scalp, bones of the face, the brain, the inner & middle ear, & the sympathetic nervous system.  A subluxation here can lead to headaches, nervousness, insomnia, head colds, high blood pressure, migraine headaches, nervous breakdowns, amnesia, chronic tiredness, & dizziness.
